The Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, has described his re-election in 2019 as a “done deal”.
However, the governor said his re-election was not taking top priority in his mind because he believed his achievements would take care of it.
El-Rufai made this known as the special guest of honour at the 2018 National Council on Finance and Economic Development, (NACOFED) conference on Monday.
According to him, Kaduna State has witnessed tremendous development because of his resolve to introduce reforms in many sectors and damn the consequences.
He noted that despite the risks in introducing the far-reaching reforms he did, the people of the state had confidence in his leadership abilities and wanted him to continue.
The governor reiterated that his immediate and utmost priority was to put the state on the right track and sound footing, while his achievements and reforms in all sectors would naturally take care of his re-election to consolidate on the achieved successes.
He said, “From all indications, because we are very scientific, the election on March 2, 2019, as far as Kaduna State is concerned, is almost a done deal.”
El-Rufai stressed that his administration undertook far-reaching reforms in the education, economic and health sectors with outstanding results in the last three and half years.
He said his reforms have catapulted the state from 20th position in 2014 to 1st position on the ease of doing business index in Nigeria.
