Buhari Refused to Give Appointment to Kwara People After Spending N400m Per state in 2015 – Saraki

It is when a couple goes through a divorce one hears the dirty secrets within a family, this saying can as well be ascribed to the present situation between the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the Ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a recent audio clip being circulated on social media, Bukola Saraki accused President Buhari of refusing to give citizens of Kwara state, major Federal appointments in spite of the huge amount of money he spent campaigning for President Buhari and the APC in 2015.

Bukola Saraki had been Kwara State Governor under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before defecting to the APC to boost Muhammadu Buhari’s chance at winning the 2015 presidential elections against incumbent, Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP.

Since then however, things have fallen apart between the duo as intrigues and drama within the APC would see Saraki jump ship again; back to the PDP in 2018.

In the audio clip which was being addressed to supporters of the PDP, Saraki said the citizens of Kwara would have had it easier had President Buhari appointed some prominent people among them to Federal positions.

He said had Kwara people been given appointments, they would have been able to approve money for party supporters which would have eased their sufferings.

He revealed further in the audio clip that save for the six south-western states, he campaigned for Muhammadu Buhari in all parts of the country, spending an average of N400m per state in the process.

He said, he had hoped that his supporters and other party faithful would be rewarded financially or with appointments.

The Senate President, however, said Buhari decided to punish the people of the state by starving them of appointments.

Excerpts from the clip read;

“What is the benefit of people that are campaigning for the APC? What is their track record? Use me as an example. When I left the PDP for the APC in 2014 and was campaigning for the APC like never before, we went to every state to campaign with Buhari up until the election time.
