The chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, has claimed that he would only investigate APC leader, Bola Tinubu, if a petition is written against him
A journalist asked him why he hasn’t looked into the source of Tinubu’s vast wealth and he retorted that if the journalist writes a petition he would do it’
Magu was speaking in Abuja at an occasion in honour of his third year at the top of the EFCC

The journalist in question asked about Tinubu’s wealth claiming that the former Lagos Governor had claimed that he is richer than Osun state. The journalist also asked about Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, who was allagedly caught on camera receiving a bribe, the journalist asked why Magu wasn’t fielding questions about this.
Magu retorted: “You know what? If you are really interested, write a petition and see whether I won’t act. Go and write a petition and substantiate in the petition and find out if I won’t act. It is not for us to listen to people on radio and begin to act. Yes, we have intelligence but the surest way to get action is to go and write a petition and substantiate the contents of the petition and see whether I will not act.”
