DSS Arrest Six in Connection with Murder of Kaduna Traditional Ruler

Justice it seems will finally be served as the Department of State Security (DSS) in Kaduna State has arrested 6 suspects whom they paraded in connection with the kidnap and murder of a Traditional ruler in Southern Kaduna, the Agom Adara Dr. Maiwada Galadima.

The traditional ruler of Adara Chiefdom in Kaduna State had been abducted alongside his wife and driver by gunmen while on their way to his palace in southern Kaduna last month.

The gunmen released his wife and driver much later but Killed the monarch and dumped his corpse by the roadside after collecting ransom for his safe release.

The murder of the chieftain sparked a trail of violent clashes in the state which led to the imposition of dusk till dawn curfew by the state government for several weeks.

The Director of the DSS in the state, Mahmud Ningi, informed the press that the suspects had been arrested in different parts of Kaduna state as he paraded them before the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abbas Balarabe, members of the State Security Council and the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Abdurahman.

The state DSS boss also revealed that the suspects had demanded a ransom of  N100m  from the family of the traditional ruler for his release.

The ruler was however killed despite negotiations and the subsequent collection of N6,850,000  from the family.

The DSS boss however revealed that the security service had been on the trail of the suspects when the Traditional ruler was abducted but couldn’t do anything because of the ruler’s safety.

They however swung into action upon discovery that the monarch had been killed.

According to him, during preliminary investigations, the suspects made confessional statements of their involvement in the abduction as he named one Adamu Sani (36) who was arrested on October 31 as the mastermind of the operation.

Other suspects include; Adamu Saidu (25), Adamu Isya (20), Yusuf Bello (32), Dahiru Muhammad Bello (28) and Mohammed Aminu.

Aminu led the DSS operatives to his accomplices in Jos, Plateau State, where eight guns were recovered.
