Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp was unflinching in his criticism of his team after their shock defeat to Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League
Milan Pavkov scored twice in the first half to condemn Liverpool to their most chastening defeat of the season.
When asked what went wrong with his team, Klopp was direct: “I only have 10 fingers…
“We had the first big chance with Daniel [Sturridge], a very big one. Each goal in a game like this leads the game in a specific direction.
“The atmosphere, noise-wise, was not a problem for us, but after the second goal they could smell it.
“We made it too easy for them. They deserved it with the passion they showed.”

Liverpool have been in great form so far this season with talks of a Premier League title and maybe even the Champions League, but with this defeat, they have a reality check and would need to be much better if they hope to make it out of the group with games against Napoli and PSG still to contend with.
“We lost our mojo in the game, not in general,” Klopp said. “We have to make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
As for James Milner who wore the captain’s armband for the night, he feels the team didn’t start well and were behind in the critical duels.
From the first whistle.
“We just didn’t start, and when you don’t start in the Champions League, you get punished.
“We have had enough chances to get back into the game and we didn’t take them. Passing the ball wasn’t good enough.
“We need to win our games, it’s on our shoulders, we have some good sides to play and it’s in our hands but we will have to play better than we did tonight.” Milner said
