There was anger in a Kenyan Church when the pastor refused to wed a couple after making them undergo three HIV tests on their wedding day, citing technical reasons according to local media.

The Pastor identified as Apostle Jesse Karanja of the Mizpah House of Prayer Church, refused to wed Joyce Waithera and Paul Waithaka, delaying the ceremony till 6pm on Saturday as he made the couple undergo medical tests.
The couple, had arrived early at the church alongside friends and family who were seated, waiting for the ceremony to commence when they were summoned to the office of the church head where he instructed them to undergo an HIV test and return with their results.
The couple did as instructed with the results coming out as negative; the lady Waithera was also asked to undergo a pregnancy test which also came out negative.
They did the first test at 1pm, another followed at 4pm after which they were asked to undergo a third series of test in the clinic of the pastor’s choosing.
The plot twist however was that the couple whose health status had clean sheets in the first two tests suddenly discovered that the bride to be was HIV Positive and pregnant.
The pastor, who had delayed the couple and the wedding guests till 6pm, seemed pleased with himself as he then announced that he would not be able to officiate the wedding because the Church law does not allow weddings to be conducted past 6pm.
This left the couple as well as the wedding guests seething with anger as they left the church premises.
