The traditional ruler from a Chiefdom in Kaduna state who was abducted by unknown gunmen alongside his wife has been killed by his abductors.
The paramount ruler of the Adara people in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna state, the Agwom Adara, Maiwada Raphael Galadima, was abducted last Friday after gunmen intercepted his convoy, killed three of his palace guards and his police escort and abducted him and his wife; his wife was released last Sunday and was taken to the hospital while the ruler had been held back till ransom was paid.
The news of the traditional ruler’s death was broken by an official of the Adara Development Association (ADA) who informed newsmen that the abductors collected a huge amount of money as ransom but still ended up killing the ruler.
He said further that the traditional ruler was killed on Thursday night and his corpse had been recovered and deposited at the St. Gerald Catholic Hospital Kakuri, Kaduna.
The Kaduna State government also confirmed the death of the abducted traditional ruler through the Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Media and Publicity, Mr Samuel Aruwan on Friday.

The state government described the murder of the traditional ruler in Kachia Local Government Area of the state as inhuman.
Issuing a statement, Mr. Aruwan confirmed that the corpse of the slain traditional ruler was found near a bush at Kateri area along the Kaduna-Abuja highway in the early hours of Friday.
The Kaduna state government called for calm in the aftermath of the murder assuring residents that the culprits would not go unpunished.
In the light of the murder the Kaduna state Government reimposed a 24-hour curfew metropolis and environs effective from 11am Friday.
Mr. Aruwan said the curfew would be enforced until further notice while mentioning that Kasuwan Magani, Kajuru, Kateri and Kachia were affected by the curfew.
While explaining that the curfew was necessary in light of the prevailing security conditions in the state, the state government called on the people of the state to unite against every criminal activity and stand together as human beings who have a right to live in peace.
