Again, Buhari Fails To Provide Any Academic Credentials For 2019

1 Min Read

President Muhammadu Buhari has, like 2015, failed to provide any academic credentials for the 2019 presidential election, claiming that they were with the military.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday published the names of about 70 presidential candidates in line with its released timetable that specified October 25 for the publication of candidates’ list.

Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were the most prominent names on the list.

Also, the commission made the credentials of the candidates available to reporters and it was observed that President Buhari did not attach any supporting documents, including academic credentials, insisting that they were with the military.

In an affidavit which he swore to, the 75-year-old Buhari said,  “I am the above named person and the deponent of this affidavit herein. All my academic qualification documents as filled in my Presidential form, APC/001/2015 are currently with the Secretary of the Military Board as of the time of this affidavit.”

However, his main challenger, Atiku submitted a Diploma in Law obtained from Ahmadu Bello University in 1968 as his highest qualification.
