Former Arsenal midfielder, Alexander Hleb, has said that he looks forward to seeing old teammate, Cesc Fabregas again.

He also jokingly promised to punch the Chelsea midfielder when they meet again for the first time in a number of years.

Nowadays, Hleb plays BATE Borisov and his team will be facing off against high-flying Chelsea in the Europa League.

The two were part of a young, dynamic and exciting Arsenal midfield that promised so much but ultimately was unable to deliver.

“It will be nice to see Cesc again,” Hleb told the Daily Telegraph . “We’ve been messaging each other. When I see him, I will … [makes a mock punching gesture] no, I’m joking.”

When asked which of them is the better player, Hleb said: “Ask Cesc, he knows!”

The Belarus international has endured something of a nomadic career, contracting himself to BATE Borisov a massive 4 times and he’s also featured for  Birmingham City, Konyaspor and Krylia Sovetov Samara.

His career seemed to go off the rail after he left for Barcelona where he won a La Liga title but was nothing more than a bit part player in that team.

Arsenal have been going through something of a renaissance under Unai Emery and when asked about the chances of his former employers, he said that he believes they can lift a trophy.

“They start not good, but now like a rocket they go up.” he said of the team
