Salah Responds to Critics As he Breaks Liverpool Record

2 Min Read

Mohamed Salah was in high spirits after a mesmirizing display in the Champions League match against Red Star Belgrade where he scored 2 goals.

The Egyptian has been finding his best form hard to come by, scoring only 6 in his last 13 games, not bad for a normal player, but after scoring 43 goals in all competitions last season, many expected more of the same.

With his goals against Belgrade, Mo Salah became the fastest Liverpool player of all time to reach 50 goals, completing the feat in only 65 games.

“[The milestone goal] is great. I’m happy to score my 50th goal for Liverpool,” he told BT Sport. “I’m very proud about that. I want to keep scoring and help the team to win games.”

When asked if he had responded to his critics, he said cheekily: “Who?”

He also played up his understanding with Firminho and Mane

“We knew how to play with each other,” he said. “The way we play is always different and the type of system we play is always different.

“In the beginning [against Red Star], it was tough. But we know how to play with each other. We know our quality. We are happy with each other.”

Liverpool sit at the top of the table with 6 points ahead of both Napoli and PSG and Captain Vergil Van Dijk admits that it isn’t over

“We need to look at ourselves.

“We want to win every game we play, especially at home. It’s going to be a difficult one over there [in Serbia]. We need to look forward to those challenges. That’s how I love it.”
