What Will Happen After 2019 If Nigeria Isn’t Restructured – Ben Bruce

2 Min Read

The senator representing Bayelsa East senatorial district, Sen. Ben Murray-Bruce, has said that Nigerians would be inviting death post-2019 by voting for a presidential candidate that will not restructure the country.

The vocal senator made this known in a tweet via his verified Twitter handle on Friday morning.

According to him, Nigeria needs restructuring to surmount the various challenges confronting it as it is presently constituted.

He identified uncontrolled borrowing as one of such challenges that can be addressed by restructuring the country.

Describing Nigeria as being on “life support”, Murray-Bruce said Nigerians “must be wise and avoid death by electing a man who will restructure in 2019”.

He said, “Nigeria needs restructuring. We cannot carry on like this. Something must give or the center may no longer hold. We are currently borrowing more than what we are making. Nigeria is on life support. We must be wise and avoid death by electing a man who will restructure in 2019.”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain identified his party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as possessing the requisite experience and exposure to take Nigeria out of the woods.

He implored the various political parties and their candidates to engage in issue-based campaign rather than mudslinging and name calling.

He said, “2019 is Atiku’s time and now that all the political parties have chosen their flag bearers, it is very important that the electioneering campaign between now and February, 2019, be dominated by issues rather than pettiness, insults, abuse and pedestrian behaviour.”
