2019: Pastor Chris Okotie Calls For Interim Govt

The Senior Pastor of Household of God Church, Pastor Chris Okotie, has reiterated his call for an interim government after the 2019 general election to get the nation off the cliff on which it is precariously hanging.

Speaking on the terms of reference of the interim government, the popular cleric said that it would be tasked with the responsibility of national reconciliation and reconstruction for Nigeria’s continuous existence as a great nation.

He said this on Saturday in Lagos during a news conference after receiving clerics from the Bishops’ Enclave.

Okotie said that there must be a paradigm shift from the usual partisan political arrangement to save Nigeria from imminent collapse as a result of disunity.

“That is why I reiterated my call for an interim government because that is the only paradigm that is realistic at this point.

“I believe there are patriots within the political parties who understand the seriousness of what is at stake.

“I believe that if they consider they would agree that there has to be a paradigm shift,” he said.

Okotie, a lawyer, equally noted that only a third option would save Nigeria from its present predicament.

He said, “The third option is not a political party, it is an interim government because I have seen in the press that you have option A and B.

“The third option in my view is an interim government that will be mandated with the responsibility of national reconciliation and reconstruction so that Nigeria can continue to exist as a great nation.”
