Shehu Sani Dares El-Rufai Challenge, Visits Kaduna Market

2 Min Read

Senator Shehu Sani of Kaduna state took on a challenge put before him by longtime foe, Governor Nasir El-Rufai

El-Rufai had boasted that he was more popular than the APC Senator daring Sani to visit a Kaduna market and see if he wouldn’t be lynched.

In true petty fashion, Sani turned up at the Kaduna market without any security and instead of getting lynched, was mobbed by fans who asked for selfies.

“Shehu Sani cannot even campaign in the market. I challenge him, let us go to Kaduna Central Market and let’s see who will come out unscathed.” said El-Rufai during his challenge.

The Senator visited the market with his aides and went round being greeted by those in the market and he dared El-Rufai to do the same and see who was better.

The two politicians had been at loggerheads for a while with El-Rufai even claiming that it was President Buhari who sanctioned him to make his several moves against the Senator, a claim that the Presidency has been quick to deny.

The statement denying the move read thus: “The Presidency wishes to distance President Muhammadu Buhari from a letter currently in circulation, which alleges that the President had authorised a governor or anyone else for that matter to ‘deal with traitors and disloyal members of APC, especially Senator Shehu Sani.’

“We wish to confirm that the President is not aware of any such letter, let alone authorising anyone to deal with any party member.”
