APC Crisis: Why We Met with Buhari- Okorocha

2 Min Read

Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha has revealed why he and other APC governors met with President Buhari, stating that it was to find lasting resolutions to long-lasting problems.

The party is currently engulfed in a snafu involving primaries in various states and this coming on the heels of a mass defection by many senators to PDP has put the party in a pretty bad place.

Okorocha himself is embroiled in some drama of his own after he decided to back his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, as the next governor of Imo state.

Speaking to reporters after the over hour-long meeting with Buhari, Okorocha said they were in the villa to “review the various crises characterising our primaries especially the APC with a view to finding solution.”

He added: “So, we are looking for a way out in this regard. We are going to find solution, our party believes in justice, equity, and fairness.

Okorocha also added, “We are requesting that let the right thing be done and let everyone contest the elections,”

According to Premium Times, a number of governors are having problems with the leadership of the APC as regards party primaries in their states. Some of the governors identified as having ‘problems’ include Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara and Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun who were both at the meeting.
