An unemployed man, Alex Akpighiran, 34, on Wednesday appeared at a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged threat to kill Sunday Uduma and Paulinus Joshua by stoning them to death.
The accused was arraigned before Chief Magistrate Lazarus Hotepo on a two-count charge of threat to life and a breach of the peace.
The prosecutor, ASP Ikem Akpan, told the court that the accused committed the alleged offences on Sept. 19, at 1:00 p.m., in Amude Street, Aradagun area of Badagry.
Akpan said that the accused threatened to kill the complainants with stones and also conducted himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 56 and 166 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Chief Magistrate Lazarus Hotepo granted the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case until Nov. 15, for further hearing. (NAN)
