Many Nigerians have lambasted Personal Assistant on New Media to President Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, for his comments on the Osun gubernatorial election.
Taking to his verified Twitter handle on Sunday morning as Osun gubernatorial election results were being collated, Ahmad tweeted: Whatever the outcome of Osun gubernatorial election, President Muhammadu Buhari deserves more accolades, in Nigeria, we have now relatively free and fair elections. No interference, no intimidation — from Anambra, Edo, Ondo, Ekiti to now Osun — the will of the people’s respected.
The Osun gubernatorial election is believed to be a two-horse race between All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Gboyega Oyetola, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Sen. Ademola Adeleke.

But Ahmad’s assessment did not go down well with many commentators on social media, who lambasted him for praise-singing the president.
