NFF Presidency: Read FIFA President Infantino’s Congratulatory Letter To Pinnick

FIFA President, Gianni Infantino has congratulated Amaju Pinnick for winning re-election as President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).

Pinnick was re-elected at the NFF Elective Congress which held in Katsina on Thursday, making history as the first NFF President to secure re-election.

He won 34 of the 44 votes cast, with closest challenger, Aminu Maigari securing eight votes.

Third-placed Taiwo Ogunjobi secured two votes and Chinedu Okoye failed to secure any vote.

In a message to the NFF, in which he copied the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the FIFA President congratulated Pinnick and other members of the new NFF board.

He also wished the new NFF board success ahead at the helm of affairs of Nigerian football.

Infantino said, “Dear Pinnick, allow me to extend to you my warmest congratulations on your re-election as President of the NFF for the 2018 – 2022 period, at today’s NFF Elective Congress in Katsina State.

“Also convey my congratulations to all your colleagues of the Executive Committee who were elected with you.

“I wish you and your team the best of luck, strength and every success for all the challenges that lie ahead.

“I look forward to continuing to work with you and seeing you soon to congratulate you in person.”
