Cultist Attack New Initiate, Family Members for Cowardice

Cultists have attacked a new member and his entire family for apparent cowardice after running away from his own initiation ceremony.

The Lagos state Police command reported that the group of cultists who had broken away from the Aiye cult group and called themselves the New Black Movement of Africa were arrested at about 12am at Jakande estate, Ajah Lagos state.

According to a statement by the spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, CSP Chike Oti, one of the recruits ran away from the cult group’s initiation ceremony after being unable to bear the rigours associated with the event.

The recruit apparently ran for his dear life to his mother’s house at Jakande estate, Ajah Lagos as members of the new cult group chased him there, angry at his apparent cowardice and the fact that he may report them to the police.

The cultists caught up with him and proceeded to attack him and everyone in sight including members of his family and robbing residents of the estate who were woken up by the noise and violence being unleashed around them.

As the violence raged, the mother of the supposed new recruit sneaked away and placed a distress call to the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ilasan division, CSP Onyinye Onwuamaegbu who immediately led a contingent of policemen to the estate and arrested eleven members of the group.

The arrested cultists include; namely, Godwin Victor, Benjamin Daniel, Saviour Anioffiong, Lawal Ibrahim, Shola Odekunle, Sodiq Olawuyi, Segun Fagbohun, Bashiru Lawal, Chinedu Francis, Wahab Adams and Ifarinde Adeniyi.

The police recovered dangerous weapons from the cultists including; one locally made shotgun, four live cartridges, three cutlasses, one sledge hammer, ten horse whips and assorted charms.

The Lagos state Police command also reported that two notorious cultists, Rasheed Yusuf aka Radical and Abel Okwo, were arrested during a supremacy battle between the Aiye and Eiye confraternities at Akerele Street Oworonshoki.

One of the cultists, Abel Okwo had been arraigned on cult-related activities, two months earlier only to come back and continue his cultist activities.
