Fulani Herdsmen Decapitate Adamawa PDP Chairman

3 Min Read

Suspected Fulani Herdsmen hit hard in Adamawa state, decapitating the PDP Chairman in the  Bare ward, Charles Chrisanthus

According to the Punch, Chrisanthus was murdered as his helpless wife looked on in disbelief on the 29th of August

Chrisanthus’ widow, Dorcas, while speaking to the press, accused the police of hiding her husband’s killer and stated that only justice could bring her and her husband peace.

“His attackers led by our Fulani neighbours repeatedly stabbed him on the back and on his stomach before beheading my husband in our farm and made away with his head,” she said.

Dorcas claimed that she was holding their child while her husband’s assailants murdered him.

She had come to the Police station to give her statement along with three other female witnesses

While at the station, Dorcas and other family members that lost loved ones to the Fulani Herdsmen attack caught wind that some of the assailants were receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital.

Dorcas was adamant that she could easily identify the Fulani Herdsmen that killed her husband, she was peeved that the Police seemed to be protecting the murderers.

“The police under the guise of allowing the suspects to seek medical attention are shielding those that killed my husband. The only thing I want is justice,” she stated.

Police Public Relations officer in Adamawa state, Musa Habibu said that investigation was still ongoing on the case but that the killers were actually in custody.

Speaking specifically on the suspected Fulani herdsmen in the hospital receiving medical attention, he said: “A suspect has a right to medical attention if he is sick.”

“Some arrests have been made and those arrested are in police custody. I have had consultations with the assistant commissioner of police handling the issue who said arrest had been made.”

“But if they said one of those arrested is receiving medical attention, a suspect has a right to medication if he’s truly sick, it could be but I don’t have that information,” he added.
