Read Why Jim Iyke Was Arrested At Lagos Airport

2 Min Read
Jim Iyke AKA ‘The bad boy of Nollywood.’ Jim has a repertoire of very aggressive love roles under his belt, Naturally one is forced to wander why someone with that kind of reputation would delve into music. This question remains unanswered even as I write this article. His debut single ‘Who am I’ which featured 2face never really captured who he was. The song was more of a rhetorical question and God bless 2face’s heart for jumping on that track but even with all his clout in the musical world, 2baba couldn’t save the 5min long track.

Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke was today arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos by men of the Airport Command of the Nigerian Police Force.

Iyke was nabbed by the police after he slapped a Dana Air security guard over alleged time-wasting.

According to reports, Iyke was due to board a 12:15 pm flight from Lagos to Abuja but was running late to catch the flight and the airline security guard tried to help him catch the flight by searching him.

A spokesman for Dana Air, Mr Kingsley Ezenwa Mr Iyke constituted a breach of the Nigerian civil aviation regulations and that the actor was arrested and also denied boarding by the airline following the assault on the security personnel.

“He was very unruly and slapped one of our staff and that’s against civil regulation laws and so we got him arrested by the Police and we also denied him boarding our aircraft,” said Ezenwa.

The actor was subsequently arrested by the police but he was freed after he apologised to the guard he slapped.

Dana Air’s Media and Communications Manager, Kingsley Ezenwa confirmed the incident and Iyke’s apology, The Punch reported.

Despite his apology, Ezenwa added that Iyke missed the flight, which was still on the ground when he slapped the guard.
