Boko Haram: Army Kills 3 as Kaduna Imposes Curfew Over Killings

The Nigerian Military has reportedly killed three Boko haram terrorists during an ambush in Borno-state, North-east Nigeria.

According to the Army Director of Public Relations, Brigadier General Texas Chukwu, the Boko haram terrorists were killed on Wednesday by troops of 151 Battalion deployed in Operation Lafiya Dole.

He further revealed that they were killed during an ambush along Banki Junction at Mayanti village in Bama Local Government Area of the state.

Troops recovered Items recovered three AK-47 rifles, three magazines, 32 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, one motorcycle, and two mobile phones from the terrorists.

He said Soldiers were in pursuit of fleeing members of the group who escaped from the ambush.

In the same vein, the Kaduna State Government has imposed  a 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew on Kwaru and Ungwan Yero communities in the Kaduna North Local Government Area of the state with effect from Friday following killings in the area which claimed the lives of two people.

The information was passed to the general public through the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity on Friday.

The Special Assistant said security agents had been deployed to the affected communities to maintain law and order, while urging the residents of the communities to adhere strictly to the curfew.

The Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufa’i condoled with the families of the deceased while expressing his concern over the needless loss of lives in the state.

He assured the families of the victims that he had directed law enforcement agencies in the state to commence investigations into the killings and bring the culprits to book.

The governor also appealed to residents within the affected communities to shun divisive tendencies along religious and ethnic lines in the interest of harmonious co-existence in Kaduna state.
