Read What Tambuwal Said About Buhari’s “Serious” Health Challenge, 2019 presidency

2 Min Read

The  Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, has claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari is still being faced with serious health challenge.

He made the claim while addressing thousands of his supporters made up of mostly youths and students at the Governor’s Office, Sokoto on Wednesday.

According to Tambuwal, the president had allowed a cabal to take over the running of his government and the cabal is doing so for “personal interest”.

He added that he unconditionally supported Buhari for president in 2015 on his acclaimed integrity but realised that integrity was not all that was needed to run the government.

Tambuwal said, “We supported Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 to become President unconditionally and we admit that Buhari has integrity but that’s not the only requirement for leadership.

“We are aware that the President is affected by serious challenges of health and is being held captive by a cabal that runs Nigeria for their personal interests.”

Recall that President Buhari was in in London for treatment for up to four months in 2017.

Tambuwal, who recently defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), earlier revealed that he had been under intense pressure to join the 2019 presidential race.

However, it was not immediately clear if concerns for the president’s health compelled him to take the decision.

Tambuwal said, “I have been receiving advices and encouragement from our leaders, peoples across the country and even from abroad to contest for presidency and this pressure is being mounting.

“It Is not my making but the quantum of pressure from every where because of leadership gap in the country.”
