Mr Femi Joseph, the state Police Public Relations Officer, had then narrated what had transpired. He said: “After failing to abduct their target, the hoodlums fled, but one of them stumbled because he was not active again due to the effect of the tramadol he had taken.
“The suspect has been sleeping for more than 24 hours after his arrest while a 400mg tablet of tramadol was found in his pocket. “
According to the PUNCH, Mr. Joseph spoke to the Press again, this time narrating that the sleeping kidnapper was still slumbering.
“As of today (Friday), the suspect had yet to wake up. Maybe he took too much of the drug, that is why he is still sleeping. We have tried all we could to make him regain his consciousness to no avail.
“However, we are still watching him to find out if he is pretending. We are with him and he would face the music no matter how long he is unconscious.” said Mr. Joseph
The kidnapper had tried to escape on a motorcycle, but had stumbled as he tried to ride it as the sleep took over.
