Following his Tuesday sack by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, former Director General of the Department of State Security (DSS), Lawal Musa Daura will remain under house arrest.
A presidential source, who pleaded anonymity, told newsmen this, adding that Daura had been placed under house arrest in one of the presidential guest houses in Aso Rock.
Recall that Osinbajo sacked Daura for ordering DSS agents to occupy the National Assembly Complex on Tuesday without official authorisation from the presidency.

He was promptly arrested by men of the Nigeria Police Force right inside the Presidential Villa.
The source said, “He will remain there (guest house) until several investigations over certain issues bordering on him are concluded.”
However, another source revealed that Daura’s “shocking” response to a verbal query by Osinbajo over the National Assembly blockade might have led to his sack.
According to the anonymous source, after Osinbajo asked Daura who cleared him to order the blockade of the National Assembly Complex, Daura allegedly questioned Osinbajo’s authority to query him.
“He simply said it’s within his powers and that he is only answerable to the President and Commander-in-Chief who appointed him,” the source said.

Meanwhile, some leading opposition figures have debunked claims that Daura was being detained for his action.
One of them, former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode accused the Federal Government of trying to deceive Nigerians over Daura’s whereabouts.
He claimed that Daura was neither arrested nor taken into custody by the police.
Fani-Kayode further said that contrary to reports, Daura was never humiliated by the treatment meted out to him by Acting President Osinbajo.
He made this known via his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday.
Fani-Kayode said, “I can confirm that it is not true that Daura was taken to SARS. It is not true that he is in police custody. It is not true that he has been disgraced and humiliated. I can also confirm that something frightful is brewing in our country and we must all be prayerful and vigilant.”
