In a bid to redeem it’s lost glory ahead of the 2019 general elections, there are indications that the Peoples’ Democratic Party would change it’s name.
The party has lost several elections after it’s major defeat in the 2015 general polls.
PDP lost governorship elections in Ondo, Edo state and the recent which was the Ekiti gubernatorial election. It has also lost some legislative seats spread across many states and the federal level.
However, in preparation for 2019, the party has considered it better to change it’s name because some leaders and members of the party who welcomed the plans believed that the image of the party has been severely dented and that the ruling All progressives Congress have continuously mocked the image and set up of the party.
In his words: ‘’I cannot really say or deny that the Deputy Senate President has been saddled with such task’’. He said.
