President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday had a closed door meeting with the opposition governors in the South West. The meeting which held at Aso Rock, Abuja had in attendance Governors Babatunde Fashola, Ibikunle Amosun, Kayode Fayemi and Rauf Aregbesola.
Also in attendance were minister of Communications and Technology, Mobola Johnson; Minister of State, FCT, Olajumoke Akinjide; Minister of State for Defense, Musiliu Obanikoro; and Minister of Police Affairs, Abduljelili Adesiyan.
After the meeting which lasted for over an hour, none of the attendants disclosed details to journalists.
Governor Fashola said he was sure the President’s spokesman would issue a press release if he wanted the details to be made public.
Governor Fayemi said the issues discussed bordered on matters of national importance.
A source privy to what was discussed at the meeting, however, said the President promised not to interfere in elections upcoming in the South west states of Osun and Ekiti.
