The Lagos State Police Commissioner, Imohimi Edgal today stormed the detention cells of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS) and freed 40 suspects.
According to information tweeted by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), an emergency-response unit of the command, the detention cells were located at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja.
The no-nonsense police boss also directed the F-SARS to immediately charge to court 30 other detainees suspected to be involved in cultism.
SARS officials have repeatedly come under fire by Nigerians for various allegations, including human rights abuse, extortion, intimidation and harassment.
