England’s Jack Wilshere has ended an over decade-long relationship with Arsenal football club and is set to sign for a new club soon.
West Ham, Crystal Palace and a host of English clubs have been said to be interested in the 26-year-old midfielder, but to the surprise of many, he just might be going overseas.
To where? Turkey
According to the Sun, the English midfielder is set to sign for the Turkish and Superliga giants.
Wilshere had said earlier this month that he was leaving Arsenal in a statement released on his Facebook page.
“I can confirm that I will be leaving Arsenal Football Club when my contract expires at the end of June.
“Following a number of extensive conversations with those at the club, and in particular a recent meeting with the new manager, Unai Emery, I felt I was ultimately left with little choice but to make the decision I have due to purely footballing reasons.” he said
Turkish journalist Volkan Demir disclosed that Wilshere was in Istanbul on Thursday completing the move to Fenerbache and that the deal could even be officially announced as early as Monday.
Wilshere was a youth academy product for Arsenal and many thought he would be a mainstay in the side especially after an amazing performance against Barcelona in the Champions League, but injuries have hampered the player and many believe he has never fulfilled the big promise which he had in his early career.
