President Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed that he disobeyed advice in order to fast in the just-concluded Ramadan period.
The president made this known in an interview yesterday.
He said that after missing the 2017 Ramadan due to ill-health, he felt fit enough for the 2018 Ramadan and did not miss a day.
Buhari added that he partook in the fast despite advice from different quarters not to do so.
The 75-year-old Buhari said, “A lot of people told me that on health grounds, I could default. But I refused because I know the value of fasting.
“I cannot miss it once I can do it. Last year, I didn’t (fast) because I was on health vacation.
“But this year, I have done it, and I thank God because it has helped me to be much healthier and to attend to national issues.”
