Jonathan Heaps Praise On Wike In Amaechi’s LGA, Shades APC

2 Min Read

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has reiterated his stance that the “Mr Project” appellation given to Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike was totally deserved.

The ex-president said this on Tuesday while commissioning the 22.3-kilometre Airport-Ipo-Omademe-Ozuoha Road in Ikwerre LGA of Rivers State, where Transport Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, hails from.

Jonathan added that instead of talking about projects, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor execute them, a statement believed to be a shade directed at the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“The whole country calling Wike Mr. Projects is not an exaggeration. It is not political. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors don’t just talk about projects, they do projects,” The Sun quoted Jonathan as saying.

Furthermore, the Bayelsa State indigene disclosed that he lived in Rivers until 1998 and never witnessed the level of development Wike has brought to the state.

He noted, “Whenever Wike invites me for projects commissioning, I am happy. The governor is an example of a good and committed leader. What he has done in three years is quite commendable. The quantum of projects are scattered across the state. Last year, I was here to commission the second Nkpogu Bridge, and, today, I am here to commission a road to the hinterland.”

Responding, Wike promised to continue to work to develop the state, stressing that many other projects had been lined up for commissioning.

He added that PDP governors would continue to deliver dividend of democracy in their various states.
