Aston Villa CEO, Keith Wyness, has left the club following his suspension but he is not going down without a fight.
According to reports, Aston Villa is currently facing a £6 million lawsuit from the 60-year-old, whose reason for taking them to court is over “constructive dismissal” by the club.
The English club management in a statement confirmed his exit and said that they’re prepared to defend themselves against any legal proceedings.
The statement read in part, “The club notes the media speculation relating to Keith’s departure and prospective legal proceedings.
“The club will be happy to defend legal proceedings if called on to do so and does not propose to comment further at this time.”
According to reports, Wyness was seeking external advice to safeguard the future of the club and his actions were not well received by club owner Tony Xia.
Aston Villa are currently going through a financial crisis and have missed several tax payments in the past.
