Benue Lost N.4 Trillion Worth Of Properties To Herdsmen Attacks – Ortom

1 Min Read

The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has said that Fulani herdsmen attacks have cost residents of the state more than N400 billion in properties.

Ortom made this known while highlighting his administration’s achievements in its third year on Radio Link, a popular Radio Nigeria programme on Saturday.

The governor said that a preliminary report on the crises produced the figure, saying the losses were hard to recover from.

Ortom vowed never to back down from the implementation of the Anti-Open Grazing Law in the state despite pressure from different quarters.

Describing the law as the “people’s will”, the governor said he had no regret signing and implementing it.

He equally lauded Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku and Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu for enacting a similar law in their states.
