The Nigerian and Arsenal legend, Nwankwo Kanu has weighed in on the situation of Ahmed Musa’s form.
The 25-year-old Nigerian striker moved to Leicester for what was then a record fee and it was widely expected that he would set the Premier League alight with his performance, but this never happened and things got so bad that he had to be loaned back to CSKA Moscow.
In his time a the King Power stadium, Musa was only able to score 5 goals in 33 games
Kanu said of Musa; “Musa is a very good player, his main asset, of course, is his speed,” Kanu told Russian News Agency TASS.
“As for his appearances for Leicester, he got into the team at a difficult moment, it was hard after they won the league, many changes followed. All this affected the career of Ahmed in England
“But that does not mean that Musa is a bad player. I think he showed his level when he returned to Russia before the World Cup.”
Musa will be at the World Cup and Kanu has backed the striker to have a good World Cup
“I consider him one of the leaders of the Nigerian national team because he is already a very experienced player, he played and scored in the last World Cup,” he continued.
“In several games, he was even the captain of the national team. The Nigerian team certainly needs such a player, he will help grow young players.”
