Klopp Mesmerised By Salah Performance, Messi Comparison

2 Min Read

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has come out to applaud star player, Mohamed Salah, after he scored four goals and assisted the fifth for Robert Firmino against Watford on Saturday.

Salah now leads the goal charts in Europe’s top five leagues – in England, Italy, Spain, Germany and France – with 36 goals in all competitions.

His league-goal tally is four bettter than those of Lionel Messi and Harry Kane.

His impressive performances in the last season and incredible display in the current season has seen him compared to Messi and other football greats.

However, his German manager warned against comparing the 25-year-old Egyptian to Messi just yet.

He said, “I don’t think Mo wants to be compared with Lionel Messi.

“Messi has been doing what he’s been doing for what feels like 20 years or so.

“The last player I know who had the same influence on a team performance was Diego Maradona.

“But Mo is in a fantastic way, that’s for sure. As it always is in life, if you have to have the skills you have to show that constantly and consistently, and he is very good.”

Despite this note of caution, pundits are still marvelled that Salah has scored 36 goals in all competitions for Liverpool this season, the most by any player for the club in their debut season, with seven goals to go in the league.

“Mo is in a fantastic way, that’s for sure,” Klopp added.

“The boys love playing together with him, and he loves playing with them.”
