Members of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have apprehended Four suspected rapists linked to the gang-raping of a 19-year-old girl in Minna, Niger State.
The names of the suspects are Muhammed Sirajo, 21; Shafi Muhammed, 19; Muhammed Abubakar, 19, and Musa Ilya, 16.
They were followed before being apprehended by agents of NSCDC in the Barakin Sale area of Minna.
Herald sources learnt that one of the suspects had proposed to the girl and she had refused which enraged the suspects.
Northern City News sources reveal that the gang allegedly waited on the girls route home before ambushing her on her way to her house.
The matter was later brought to the attention of NSCDC operatives, who then arrested the four suspects.
Philip Ayuba, the NSCDC state Commandant, verified the arrest, noting that the suspects had admitted their guilt and were currently being prosecuted by the state Ministry of Justice.
