The Lagos East Senatorial District chapter of the All Progressives Congress in Epe on Thursday had its ‘General Assembly,’ where members and leaders of the party endorsed the Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, for a second term.
The chapter also threw its weight behind the state APC, a national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu; the APC state Chairman, Henry Ajomale; the leader of the party in the Lagos East, Bushura Alebiosu; and the Senator representing Lagos East, Gbenga Ashafa.
The communiqué issued by the assembly and read by the Secretary of the APC district, Joko Pelumi, said it was satisfied with the performances of its leaders, as well as the pro-people policies of the party.
It read in part, “The district calls on all well-meaning members of our great party to give maximum and unflinching support to the leadership of the party. The district also passes a vote of confidence on the representation of Senator Gbenga Ashafa.
“All aggrieved members of the party should reconcile to enable a common front in the 2019 elections.”
The motion for the endorsement of Ambode for a second term was moved by a leader in the district, Olorunfunmi Bashorun, and seconded by Ashafa.
