The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu has promised that the Nigerian Air Force will do its very best to ensure peace is restored to the North Eastern region shortly so that peace and freedom would reign again.
Air Marshal Amosu said: “I have been involved in operations at the North-east so now that I have taken over, we would expedite action in ensuring that stability returns to the region.
“We promise that peace would be restored to the region so that elections can take place come 2015. But we need cooperation from the palace and the citizens to be able to achieve this.
“Also, we need more young people in the military because it is a way of getting miscreants off the street. We will work with Honourable Deji Jakande and Rafeequat Onabamire to ensure we get Lagosians to join the force.”
He said, “We need to concentrate more on the youths so that we can have peace because without peace, development would not come to Nigeria.
“So we need to mobilize them so that we can contribute and bring the desired peace to Nigeria. The time frame at which we would achieve this is not important rather our determination to succeed.”
He said, “We are fully backed in terms of capability as regards funds and also our men are capable of backing up action. But we need to consider variables like weather or unserviceable equipment when we expect the armed forces to finish within a timeline.”
