Boko Haram Bomb Factory In Sambisa Forest Destroyed By Army

The Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Operation Lafiya Doyle Colonel Onyeama Nwachukwu announced the discovery of a massive Improvised Explosive Device (IED) factory in Sambisa Forest by troops who promptly destroyed the factory which was operated the insurgents.

The colonel made this known on Wednesday in Maiduguri. Several terrorists with affiliation to the Boko Haram sect were apprehended in Sambisa Forest and the Region of Lake Chad.

“On Feb. 6, 2018, the troops, closely supported by Nigerian Air Force, further exploited deep into the far end of Camp Zairo and aggressively carried out an offensive against Boko Haram terrorists, destroying a major Improvised Explosive Device  (IED) making factory.” said Col Onyeama.

The Army trumped the insurgents after rigorous combat, subdued them and took over the factory. 88 Gas Cylinders, one laptop computer, one 100m Ultra High-Frequency Handheld radio (UHF HH Radio) and two Global Positioning System (GPS) were recovered among several other pieces of equipment.

The success recorded by the troops was also due to the support provided by the Nigeria Air Force in the operation to decimate the insurgents wreaking havoc across the nation.
