The senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Shehu Sani has described the Reconciliation Committee set up by President Muhammadu Buhari as the last chance for peace in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Sani made this known in a Tuesday evening tweet on his verified Twitter handle.
In a Tuesday statement through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, the president said a National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu would lead the consultation, reconciliation and confidence building efforts toward improving cohesion within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the presidential aide, the assignment will involve resolving disagreements among party members, party leadership and political office holders in some states of the federation.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the Kano State APC crisis involving supporters of former Gov. Rabiu Kwakwanso and the serving Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, is one of the tasks of the Tinubu reconciliation committee.
In his tweet, Sani said, “Asiwaju’s APC reconciliation committee is the last penalty kick for peace and unity within the Party.”
