Foundation Empowers 100 Sokoto Women

2 Min Read
Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso has told Buhari to forget about winning again in Kano

The foundation of Sen. Rabi’u Kwankwaso (APC- Kano), under Kwankwasiya Women Empowerment Programme (KWEP), on Saturday,
gave N10,000 each to 100 women in Sokoto State.

Alhaji Aliyu Madakin-Gini (APC- Dala, Kano State) made the disbursement on behalf of Sen. Kwankwaso at a programme organised by the Kwankwasiya Movement in Sokoto.

Madakin-Gini, who represents Dala Local Government of Kano State in the
House of Representatives, said the gesture was part of the foundation’s commitment to empower masses across the country.

He said “the aim of the foundation is to empower the masses and encourage them
to become self reliant.

“We started this gesture with youths and now to the women as a pilot programme in Sokoto; I want to assure you that more things are on the way for more women and youths.”

He commended the people of the state for supporting the movement and urged
them to “always pray for the success of the foundation and the founder to fulfill his intentions.”

The Coordinator of the foundation, Alhaji Malami Galadanchi (APC- Sokoto North I), said the empowerment was commendable as it came at the time people needed it most.

Galadanchi, representing Sokoto North I at the state House of Assembly, said
Nigeria needed more persons of integrity to support the masses.

He urged those who got the N10,000 to “at least put it to good use.

“As you all know, empowering a woman is like empowering the whole society, so, put the money you got to good use.”
