The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has unveiled the statue of visiting Liberian President, Ellen Johnson Sir leaf.
This is coming barely a month after he unveiled the statue of South African President, Jacob Zuma, which received heavy backlash as he was criticized for wasting government resources.
According to Rochas the statues are in appreciation for the contributions to the development of the state and to foster good relations.
The Liberian president said she has never received such an honour.
She disclosed that she has a statue in her alma mater, Harvard University, but the size of the statue cannot be compared to the one built by the Rochas Okorocha administration.
