Leading opposition figure, Nasir ElRufai has stated that the candidates who contested the 2011 elections under the flag of Congress for Progressive Change did not win the elections due to their unpreparedness and lack of mobilization at the grassroots level.
El Rufai speaking during the commissioning of the All Progressives Congress Secretariat in Minner, Niger State called on candidates under the flag of the APC to begin to woo their wards ahead of the 2015 elections.
“I want to advise that all our aspirants campaigning now and indeed all members should go to their villages and wards to build the party. We should avoid the mistake made by CPC during the last election. We cannot afford to become a party of contestants without foundation,” El-Rufai said.
He warned against allowing the Peoples Democratic Party win the 2015 elections as he stated that Nigeria could not bear another 4 years of misrule.
He further accused the PDP of stoking the fire of ethnicity, and religious sentiment in the country, with a hope of dividing the electorate.
