Stakeholders in Alimosho Constituency 1 of Lagos State on Friday commended the state government for efforts in infrastructure development of the area.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the stakeholders made the commendation at a meeting with the lawmaker representing constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Prince Bisi Yusuf.
Those who spoke included the Community Development Council (CDC) Chairman of Agbado Oke-Odo, Mr Alaye Adebayo; CDC Chairman, Ayobo Ipaja, Mr Abiodun Coker; and CDC Chairman, Mosan Okunola, Dr Akeem Baruwa.
The others include Rev. Dele Asaju, President, Christian Association of Nigeria, Alimosho; Alhaji Isah Arikewuyo, President, League of Imams, Alimosho, and Alhaji Ahmed Haroun, Seriki Hausa of Alimosho.
Oba Samuel Oroja, the Onimeiran of Meiran, also spoke on behalf of traditional rulers in the locality.
The stakeholders particularly expressed gratitude to the state government for construction of the Abule Egba Flyover and the Aboru-Abesan Link Road, which have been inaugurated.
The stakeholders urged speedy completion of ongoing projects in the constituency such as the Kola-AIT Road and Ayobo-Ayetoro Bridge.
Alimosho stakeholders also urged the government to focus on reconstruction of link roads which, they said, were in deplorable condition.
They said that the reconstruction would reduce gridslock on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
The stakeholders decried lack of potable water in many parts of the area, and urged improved access to quality healthcare.
Earlier, Yusuf said that the meeting was an opportunity for him to interact with stakeholders and make their demands known to the executive arm of the government.
“I am also exceedingly delighted to inform you that most of the various infrastructural projects, which are visible across the local governments and local council development areas, are some of the outcomes of the 2015 and 2016 meetings respectively.”
The lawmaker promised that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would continue to fulfill its campaign promises to the people of the state to make life more meaningful.
