A total of 500.29 million shares valued at N3.62 billion were traded in 3,120 deals on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday.
This represented 366.92 per cent increase over the 107.148 million shares worth N1.37 billion traded in 2,848 deals on Monday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that market capitalisation, however, depreciated by N14 billion or 1.15 per cent to close at N12.048 trillion from N12.188 trillion recorded on Monday.
The All-Share Index, which opened at 35,358.73 lost 407.46 basis points to close at 34,951.27.
Nestle led the losers’ chart with a loss of N19.7 to close at N1205.3 per share.
Dangote Cement followed, depreciating by N7 to close at N206, while International Breweries dropped N1.87 to close at N35.68 per share.
Nigerian Breweries dipped by N1 to close at N167, while Dangote Sugar depreciated by 1k to close at N13.7 per share.
Conversely, Presco topped the gainers’ table with N1.94 to close at N59 per share.
It was trailed by Nascon, which gained 6k to close at N13.1, while Oando Oil and Uniliver gained 19k each to close at N5.99 and N29 per share.
Also Zenith Bank appreciated by 11k to close at N22.2 per share.
Continsure emerged the investor’s delight, trading 190.51 million shares worth N333.27 million.
SterlngBank came second, trading 83.32 million shares worth N80.83 million, while Access Bank sold 50.99 million shares valued at N491.95 million.
Mansard traded 30.11 million shares worth N60.22 million, while Transcorp sold 18.89 million valued at N24.83 million.
