3 Min Read

Nigerian youths on the platform of Nigeria Solution Group have called on citizens to always make unity and peace their watch words as Nigeria celebrates its 57th independence anniversary on Oct. 1.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday, Mr Ekpa Stanle-Ekpa, president of the group said the group would galvanise Nigerian youth leaders in a conference to tell the world that Nigerians had always been united for peace and development.

“The group is galvanising Nigerian youth leaders to make concrete and defining decisions on Nigeria’s unity and development.

“At the group’s National Youth Leadership Conference in Abuja soon, the group will engage Nigerian youths on deepening Nigeria’s unity and continual peaceful co-existence,’’ he said.

According to him, the conference, entitled: “National Youth Conference on Nigeria’s Unity and Development’’, will hold on Sept. 23 at the Shehu Musa Yar’adua Centre, Abuja.

“Concerned about some recent development in Nigeria, the conference is organised in partnership with Ohanaeze Youth Council, Arewa Youth Forum, Yoruba and Ijaw Youth Councils, Nigerian Youth Parliament and Youth Wing Christian Association of Nigeria.

“The conference will build a watershed of collective consensus for national peace and unity, featuring former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II of Kano, Ooni Adéyẹyè Ẹniìtàn Ògúnwùsì

Ojaja II of Ife, former Gov. Orji Uzor Kalu of Abia and Minister of Youth and Sports Solomon Dalung, among others.

Others to feature in the conference are ace musician 2Face Idibia, President of Ohanaeze Youth Council Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, Leader of Arewa Youths Consultative Forum Yerima Shettima, motivational speakers like Dayo Israel, Ekpa Stanley Ekpa, Demije Fabiyi, Adebola Williams, Jamie Pajoel and Tope Fasua.

“In our generation, Nigerian young leaders will galvanise transcendent leadership to secure Nigeria’s unity and development.

“Nigeria has come of age to lead development pace of the black race and this can only happen in a system where youths shun ethno-religious and other vicious sentiments,’’ Stanle-Ekpa said.
