Rangers International FC of Enugu says nothing will be left to chance in its quest to pick the maximum three points against Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt.
Rangers’ Team Manager, Amobi Ezeaku, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Enugu that his players were ready to go for victory.
NAN reports that the Flying Antelopes (Rangers) would be locking horns with visiting the Rivers United on Sunday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu by 4.00p.m.
The match is day 32 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
Ezeaku said that the players and coaches of Rangers, the NPFL defending champions, had vowed not to drop any point at home again until the end of the current league season.
“I believe that with the kind of new spirit and winning mentality amongst the players now, nothing is stopping us from getting the club out of the woods and finish on a commendable position on the league table.
“With the remaining seven games in the league, four home and three away, the club have bright chances of finishing amongst the first top six clubs,’’ he said.
The team manager, however, regretted that as the defending champions, the club was facing a lots of challenges, which he said were gradually being overcome.
He said that Rangers International belongs to the elite of the premier league clubs in Nigeria and the only premiership club that had never gone on relegation.
According to him, it has the capacity and players to maintain and sustain the leverage.
“Rangers will not give up on their push to finish at the zenith of the league table this season.
“I am calling on our teeming fans and supporters to sustain the support and remain focused, while believing that the set objectives must be achieved,’’ he said.
