Committee pledges transparency as APC elects delegates in Sokoto

Sen. Ishaq Salman, Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) congress election committee in Sokoto state, has pledged that his committee would conduct credible, free and fair delegates election in the state.

Salman made the pledge on Saturday in Sokoto while addressing party members on the guidelines for the election of delegates who would represent the state in the forth coming APC national congress.

He enjoined party loyalists to live up to the expectations of the people by maintain peace during the election.

“The national leaders of APC are always committed to credibility and fairness to all members of the party and encourage same at state and local government levels,” he said.

 

 

The chairman said the guidelines recommended gender sensitivity and the inclusion of physically-challenge persons among the delegates.

In his remarks, Gov. Aminu Tambuwal, represented by the Deputy Speaker, Alhaji Abubakar Magaji, promised that members of the party would cooperate with the committee.

The state chairman of the APC, Alhaji Usman Danmadamin-Isa, commended members of the committee and assured them of the commitment of the party to maintain its credibility in the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the committee would conduct the election of 69 delegates, three each from the 23 local government areas of the state. (NAN)
