I Used To Wear His Pants, Underwear – Wife Of Late Adebayo Faleti Talks About Deceased Husband

3 Min Read

Following the death of veteran author and actor, Adebayo Faleti who died on July 22nd at a hospital in Ibadan after a brief illness, his wife, Abosede, has in an interview granted opened up on her relationship with her husband before his death.

The wife of the actor stated that they were so close to one another even to the point where she wore his pants and underwear.

Speaking during the interview granted to The Nation, the wife of the late actor and author, Olubunmi Abosede stated that they both grew up with different exposure, education and age and begun their romantic journey in 1981.

Speaking on their closeness, she said: “We were so close to the extent that I wore his pants and underwear. Up until his death, if you come to our house very early in the morning, maybe around 6am, I wear his clothes all around the house before getting dressed or set for the day’s activities. Baba was always willing to give me his Buba to wear. We were so close,” she said tearfully.

“We were very close during his lifetime. From the time my parents sent me out after I took in (got pregnant) for him, he accepted me and my child and promised me that no hurt will come to me. He fulfilled his promises.

“Since we got married, I don’t eat alone, I will only eat when he gets back from work. He does the same thing by not eating out until he gets home because he knew I wouldn’t eat until he gets back from work.”

Speaking on how they met, the Olori as fondly called by her late husband said their journey was rather unexpected and unpalatable at first adding that she never expected that an elderly man like Faleti could woo her, a Form Five student of Christ High School, Oleyo, Challenge-Orita, Ibadan.

Bosede stated that her initial rejection of the proposal was based on the age gap but Faleti insisted and kept on asking her. She added that her parents kicked against their love and marriage.
