6 Teenagers From Burundi Disappear After Competition In US

A total of six students from Burundi have gone missing after they arrived in the United States for the FIRST Global Challenge robotics competition.

The team of six teenagers representing East African Countries have been reported missing according to police.

Local police in Washington D.C. stated that the Burundi team were reported to have gone missing at around 5:00p.m. on Tuesday.

They were said to have disappeared at about the same time the competition was expected to round up.

Speaking on the disappearance, the team’s mentor revealed that his team disappeared at the completion of the competition adding that he does not know where they went.

Police investigators tried contacting an uncle of one of the missing team members but he failed to respond.

The missing teenagers’ details was given to include two females and four males all within the age range of 16 to 18.

Local Police identified the missing team members on its Twitter page as; Audrey Mwamikazi, 17; Aristide Irambona, 18; Kevin Sabumukiza, 17; Don Ingabire, 16; Nice Munezero, 17; and Richard Irakoze, 18.
