Stay Out Of Buhari’s Private Life – Kinsmen To Nigerians

3 Min Read

The Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari’s kinsmen in Daura have pleaded with Nigerians to stay out of the president’s personal business and instead pray more for his health.

The President’s kinsmen made this known in various of their messages during a visit by The Punch.

The plea comes on the heels of several speculations regarding the president’s health as the Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose maintained that the president’s health status has since worsened and his administration is being managed by the cabal who have hijacked it.

Recall that a former Aviation Minister in the country, Femi Fani Kayode had recently alleged that the president will never return to the country adding that he is not getting better contrary to the report given by the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo.

Buhari’s kinsmen led by Lawan Saidu, Ahmed Haroun and Seidu Awalu, all elders in Daura, said Nigerians should leave the president alone and allow him recuperate.

The further urged Nigerians to pray harder for the president instead of finding fault in the way his administration is being run.

Awalu, one of the elders said: “Anyone can be sick, so why is everybody attacking the President as if he is not a human being? The last time he was in the country, he told Nigerians that he was ill and had never been that ill, so what else do you want him to do?”

Also, an unnamed senior official in the Emir of Daura, Umar Farouq Umar said that the president’s privacy should be respected.

He added: “We offer prayers for him here on a daily basis and every Jumaat; we pray for him in the mosques and eagerly look forward to his safe return to Nigeria very soon.”

Speaking on the issue, the Katsina State chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Mallam Tanimu Saulawa said: “I believe the President had done what was expected of him constitutionally before his medical trip. This is our President and Nigerians, irrespective of tribe or religion, should show the spirit of nationalism.

“We should rather intensify prayers for him for his recovery because the national responsibilities on him are enormous.”
